Ride the french alps like never berfore
Looking for a proper mountain bike alps trip with technical trails, long descents and real alpine riding? Welcome to Summit Bike, based in Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the heart of the Haute-Tarentaise.
Here, we focus on: good riding, local knowledge and quality time in the mountains with people who genuinely love being on the bike. Whether you are planning a weekend away with friends, a longer biking holiday, a technical coaching camp or shuttle-supported riding days, everything is organised so you can make the most of your time on the trails.
The idea is simple: you come to ride, we handle everything else.
Accommodation, shuttles, route planning and guiding are organised in advance so your days can stay focused on the riding. You arrive, get the bikes ready and head straight into the mountains.
Our mountain bike alps holidays are designed for riders looking for proper terrain, good trails and a smooth overall experience. Technical singletrack, steep descents, panoramic alpine trails and long enduro days : every programme is adapted to the level and expectations of the group.
Our guides adapt each day depending on the conditions, the weather and the energy of the group. Some days are perfect for bigger alpine missions and technical descents, while others work better as longer flowing rides with more distance and less intensity.
Accommodation is chosen with riders in mind: comfortable places, good locations, proper recovery after long days on the bike and enough space to relax in the evenings. A good trip is not only about the trails: it is also about enjoying the whole atmosphere around the riding.
A good riding trip often comes down to one thing: access to the right terrain.
Tarentaise is one of the best regions in Europe for MTB, simply because of the variety of trails available within a relatively small area.
At Summit Bike, we ride here all year long, which means we know not only the famous spots but also the quieter trails and hidden lines that most visitors never find.
Technical and demanding, with long descents, natural terrain and proper alpine riding. Ideal for riders who enjoy steep trails and technical sections.
More open and flowing, with incredible views across the French and Italian Alps. A great area for longer rides and fast descents.
Natural, quieter and less developed than some of the larger resorts. Perfect for riders looking for authentic off road riding away from busy bike parks.
A varied riding area with technical sections, bike park trails and high-altitude terrain. Great for mixing flow and technical riding during the same day.
Classic alpine riding with long descents, big scenery and trails that keep going for what feels like forever.
Another excellent option for mixing technical riding, flow trails and natural terrain depending on the group and the conditions.
Our shuttle service also makes a huge difference during the trip. Instead of spending hours climbing roads or organising vehicles, you can focus your energy on the riding itself and enjoy more descents throughout the day.
Summit Bike is led by Dylan, a certified mountain bike instructor and lifelong rider. Originally from the south of France, he left the coast to settle in the Alps and fully dedicate his life to riding and guiding.
What drives him is simple: finding the best possible lines in the mountains. Not just the obvious trails, but the hidden singletracks, technical descents and natural features that make every ride unique. The goal of Summit Bike is to create mountain biking experiences where riders progress, disconnect from everyday life, and share real moments on the trails.
It’s serious riding, expert guiding, and deep local knowledge all delivered in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where the focus is always on enjoyment.
At Summit Bike, we don’t sell standard tours. We create shared riding experiences.
Every itinerary is designed based on what matters most: flow, technical challenge, scenery, and pure riding pleasure.
Groups are built around similar riding styles so that everyone progresses at the right pace.
You’ll receive guidance when needed, technical advice on the trail, and plenty of opportunities to push your riding further in a safe and supportive environment.
A mountain bike trip should feel like riding with friends : sharing trails, laughing on the shuttles, and reliving the best moments after the ride. MTB, enduro or e-MTB, whatever your discipline, the experience is built around your passion for riding.
Our certified guides don’t just follow routes: they design experiences.
Each day is adapted to the group’s level, expectations and energy. This allows us to create a dynamic riding experience where no two days are the same.
Depending on the day and the group, rides may include:
Every ride is designed to combine progression, enjoyment and discovery.
Our mtb shuttle service is designed with one objective in mind: maximising riding time.
We take riders to the top of the trails, pick them up lower in the valley and help groups access more terrain during the day without wasting unnecessary energy on road climbs or logistics. For riders who enjoy long descents and technical alpine riding, shuttle support completely changes what is possible during a trip.
It also allows access to more remote areas and hidden trails that are difficult to organise independently.
The whole experience becomes smoother, more efficient and far more enjoyable, especially during shorter weekend breaks where every riding hour matters.
If you want to improve your riding, our coaching sessions are designed to help you progress quickly and confidently. Whether you struggle with technical descents, want to improve your cornering or simply feel more comfortable on alpine terrain, we work on the fundamentals that make the biggest difference.
Our coaching sessions focus on practical riding skills that make a real difference on alpine terrain: body positioning, braking control, cornering technique, line choice and technical descents.
All sessions are delivered in our local bikepark in Les Arcs, meaning everything you learn can be applied immediately. The goal is not to overcomplicate riding, but to help young riders to feel more comfortable and efficient on the bike.
Each coaching camp is designed to combine structured learning with real riding pleasure. There is no classroom feel, everything happens directly on the trails, in the mountains, in real situations.
This makes learning more effective, more natural, and much more enjoyable.
Whether you ride enduro MTB our downhill mountain bikes, the goal is always the same: help you feel more confident, more capable, and more connected to the terrain.
Because better skills mean better rides, and better rides mean better experiences on the bike.
